What is FDE
What forward deployed AX engineering means
In Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE), engineers go into the customer's operations and solve the problem on the ground. That is how re:boot does AX: one team stays on it from understanding the work through AI-based redesign, build and adoption.
We start on the ground
We define the problem where the work actually happens, next to the people who know it best — not in a slide deck.
We build it ourselves
We don't stop at a diagnosis. The same team redesigns the work so AI does it, and builds the screens and agents that run it.
We make it stick
Only what the pilot proves gets expanded, and we leave working rules and AI skills behind so your team keeps using them.
How it differs from consulting and outsourced development
| Consulting | Outsourced development | re:boot AX FDE | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where the work happens | Reports and meetings | At the vendor, from a requirements document | In your operations, next to the business team |
| What you get | Strategy and roadmap documents | A system built to the spec | A working system and a new way of working |
| When scope changes | Deferred to the next engagement | Change orders and renegotiation | Approved and delivered one requirement at a time |
| What stays after | Documents | Code | Reusable assets: domain knowledge, AI skills, integration designs |
| How success is judged | A report | Whether the features shipped | An evaluation report and the speed and quality of the work |

Domains
Any line of work
AX starts from the work, not the industry. Where our founder and team have worked before, we start faster with the domain knowledge we already have.
Manufacturing
Orders, cost, profitability, quality, schedules
Finance & fintech
Cards · loan brokerage · MyData
Commerce
Luxury · cross-border · pre-owned luxury · official IP merch stores
Games
Global portal · mobile games · H5 games
Advertising & rewards
Ad monetization platform
Leisure & booking
Lodging · golf booking
Not on the list? That's fine. The on-site assessment starts by finding where the rules of your workflow actually live.
How we work
AI does the work. People make the calls.
We work in the same order on site. AI drafts documents, writes and tests code and keeps the records; people approve scope and merges.
One requirement, end to end
- 01Requirement
- 02PRD draft
- 03Scope approval
- 04Build · test
- 05Review · merge
- 06Deploy · progress log
Lines AI can't cross — enforced by the system
No deletes or completion rollbacks for AI
Hard-to-undo actions are left out of the interface AI uses altogether. People do them in the web UI.
Only within the owner's permissions
AI works with credentials a person issued, and the server checks that person's permissions on every call.
The server enforces the order of steps
A step cannot start until the one before it is finished.
Scope grows only through approval
Approving a requirement is approving its scope. AI never adds work on its own.
People approve merges
AI writes the code but can't review its own work. Passing automated checks is the minimum bar, not approval.
Reusable assets
What stays after the project
Every engagement adds domain knowledge and tools, and the next one starts from there. If we've seen your industry and workflow before, we don't start from zero.
Domain knowledge
Business rules, procedures and data from the field, organised by industry and workflow.
AI skills for delivery
The path from requirement to release and record, fixed as AI skills so every task follows the same steps.
Integration and migration templates
Designs for connecting existing systems to AI agents, plus a procedure and forms for extracting and moving legacy rules.
Vibe-Ops
Coming soonAn AI-agent-first requirements management solution.
Cases
Problems we've already solved
If we've worked in your industry and workflow before, we don't start from scratch. Clients are named only by industry and size.
Twelve business areas in one system: 225 features in 16 weeks
Global automotive parts maker · Program management and profitability analysis system
Over 500 requirements delivered, with AI driving each one from requirement to release and record — 700+ screens and about 3,000 APIs.
From a daily flood of news to AI reports on the topics you follow
Major card company · Trend news sensing portal
A research flow — choose topics, analyse news, get reports, receive alerts — built into an AI portal connected to the company's SSO, email and messenger.
Booking rules dug out of legacy code and moved behind APIs
Golf booking platform · Platform rebuild
AI found and documented booking and group-join rules scattered across old screens and SQL, and the platform was rebuilt around APIs that AI agents and other services can call.
Twelve manual entries become one request and one approval
re:boot Agent · Fictional company demo · No real customer data
Procedures live in skills, execution stays in existing systems. Contract → activation → billing with one natural-language request and one human approval.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is the on-site assessment really free?
Yes. A lead engineer and our CEO assess one workflow over two weeks and hand you an assessment report and a pilot proposal. We don't charge for it, and you're under no obligation to run a pilot afterwards.
Do we have to keep going after the pilot?
No. You decide after every stage whether to continue, based on what the pilot delivered and how it was evaluated.
How is pricing set?
Pilots are fixed price. We quote once we understand the workflow and scope, and there are no extra charges within the agreed scope. Changing the scope goes through approval again.
We're concerned about security. Can you work inside our environment?
We work within your security policies. Which data we touch and how AI models are used are agreed during the on-site assessment. AI only gets access to actions within the responsible person's permissions, and hard-to-undo actions stay with people.
How long does it take?
Two weeks for the on-site assessment, four weeks for Pilot S and eight weeks for Pilot M or L. Scaling up and adoption after the pilot are planned together once the pilot results are in.
Which workflow should we start with?
Good candidates are repetitive, hop between several screens and re-enter the same information more than once. If you're not sure, we choose one together during the assessment.
We're an IT services or consulting firm. Can we partner with you?
Yes. We want to deliver AX projects with IT services and consulting partners who know their clients' operations well. Leave your company and proposal in the form below.

Tell us briefly about your company and the work. We'll book the earliest open 30-minute slot during business hours (weekdays 10:00–18:00 KST), send a Google Calendar invite with a Meet link, and confirm or adjust the time within one business day.
If you're an IT services or consulting firm that brings AX to clients, send partnership proposals through this form too.
