Development MVP build
Both apps are ad-hoc signed for development and not notarized by Apple, so macOS may block them. Make sure the file came from this site, then follow the allow-to-open prompt in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Do not turn off your security settings.
Four steps to pick up your work.
For the first connection, keep both Macs on the same network and start at 1080p · 60fps.
Install the apps
Unzip and move the apps to Applications. Run ReworkHost.app on the Mac you connect to and Rework.app on the Mac you connect from.
Grant Host permissions
Click Grant Permissions to allow Screen Recording and Accessibility, relaunching if macOS asks. Keep the Host Mac signed in.
Start hosting & export JSON
Click Start Hosting, check the Server address, then use Export JSON and send the file to the other Mac securely.
Import in Remote & connect
Choose Import Connection JSON in the Remote Desktop menu to fill in address, port, key and the default 1080p · 60fps, then click Connect.
